History of Sewanagala Divisional Secretariat
The Sewanagala Divisional Secretariat was first established in a store building complex belong to Sewanagala Sugar Company Ltd on 31st March 1999. 14 Grama Niladhari Divisions (GNDs) which earlier were belonged to Thanamalwila DS was separated and included in the Sewanagala Divisional Secretariat.
At first, there was no Divisional Secretary appointed to Sewanagala DS and the Divisional Secretary, Thanamalwila covered the duties. The staff was consisted of only two clerks at that time.
A new office building was constructed in a land closer to Danduma Junction and it was declared open on 06th April 2005. Mr. K.A.J. Premalal was the Divisional Secretary during this period.
